Born in 1975 in Pompei, Francesco Scognamiglio is an Italian fashion designer. He graduated in 1998 from design school, and later went on to open his first fashion house. Fast forward to 2001, he made his debut on the runways of Milan. Scognamiglio has grown to be one of my favourite designers, because he is the perfect combination of class and elegance. His use of delicate fabrics catches my attention most, as well as his very romantic and enchanting style. I find his work to be rather interesting, reminding me of the pieces I typically look forward to seeing in Alexander McQueen and Lanvin's shows. Here are some of his best designs over the years! These pieces go back to Spring RTW 2010 and 2011 Here also some looks from the Fall 2016 Couture show: Here are some looks from his most recent collection for Spring 2017 Couture: Spring is finally here! After a long cold winter in Toronto, I thought I would dedicate a post for some spring trends that I think we're definitely going to continue seeing. These trends have all been sported by your favourite celebs, and only get stronger when there's influence involved. Here are the 5 trends to keep an eye on this spring: 1. Velvet Velvet is back! I'm sure you first saw it rise in boots, but now it has moved to EVERYTHING. We're talking dresses, tshirts, pants, skirts and even jackets. Now that the warm weather is here, it's probably only going to get stronger. 2. Embroidery Embroidery is definitely one of the hottest trends of the year! Making appearances all over the runways and the streets, you can find them all over denim, shoes and more! 3. Fishnets The fishnet trend has been one of the coolest trends we've seen in a while. If I'm being honest, when it first became popular, I thought there was no way I could ever pull them off; but now, I'm a little excited to try them. They've translated from tights to socks, tops and dresses, making this trend everyone's cup of tea! 4. Patches (Iron on or sewn) Patches are definitely in style this season, and seem to only be getting stronger. The perfect way to personalize and accessorize clothing is here, and looks cute on everything! 5. Perspex
The perspex heels are also one of the coolest trends to have come along. And ever since their arrival, they have been made in so many colours, shapes and styles. I'd say grab a pair now, these babies aren't going anywhere. Every celebrity has their own unique red carpet style. Some tend to favor jumpsuits, while others tend to favor gowns that with figure-hugging silhouettes. But the best red carpet style carpet styles belong to those who aren't afraid to step outside the box, or truly brand themselves with their style. Stars like Lilly Collins and Selena Gomez are known for always stepping in a elegant ensemble, whereas stars like Heidi Klum and Jennifer Lopez are more recognized for the their fashion risks and fearless approach to new styles and trends. These are the best red carpet looks from all your favorite stars: Lilly Collins Lilly Collins has made quite a name for herself as an actress, but even more so when it comes to her amazing style. Typically favoring Elie Saab and Zuhair Murad, Collins constantly steps out in ravishing gowns, giving her the great style reputation she has today. Jennifer Lopez JLo has been hitting up red carpets since before most of us could walk, and still all these years later, she is killing it. From her iconic navel-plunging Versace in the 2000s, to her constant fashion risks she takes today, she definitely lands among one of the best red carpet style celebrities. Jennifer Lawrence JLaw is known for capturing her audience through her performances on-screen, but off-screen, they are just as good. The actress always steps out looking divine (mostly in Dior), and usually in the most simplistic look possible. She exudes a certain elegance in everything she wears, making her one of the best style stars ever. Kate Hudson This rom-com queen has got some seriously good taste when it comes to walking the carpets, and her incredible figure makes it hard for her not to pull off literally everything. From major cut-outs to elegant neutrals, Kate Hudson is one to watch when it comes to events and award shows. Selena Gomez SelG has had some of the best red carpet looks, ever since she was 18 years old. She knows how to keep a balance of elegance and risqué, and it works very well for her. The singer/actress's evolution on the carpets has been quite remarkable. Kendall Jenner Kendall Jenner has become one of the world's most renowned models ever. After walking for designers like Chanel, Balmain and Givenchy, no wonder her sense of style is amazing. She kills every red carpet look she takes on, especially with her stunning figure. Gigi Hadid Gigi Hadid has also become one of the world's top models, and is rising as one the best style stars. Her daring cutouts yet fashionable pantsuits makes her red carpet style alluring, and leaves us always wanting more. Blake Lively Lively is gorgeous actress, mostly known for her work on one of the most stylish shows, Gossip Girl; well, she is in fact one of the most stylish stars in real life. Her ability to pull off anything, while pregnant or not, makes her style completely enviable. Emma Stone Emma Stone has been rising in her career over the last few years, leaving no room for error on the carpets. Her ability to pull off any her color makes her style so versatile and elegant, and always leaves us wanting more. Jenna Dewan Tatum Jenna Dewan Tatum has one of the most underrated red carpet styles. Though we haven't seen the actress' work in a while, she certainly knows how to rock a gown wherever she goes. Her super toned body and glowing skin make it hard for her not to look incredible in every colour, silhouette and style. Ahh yes, the long awaited adaptation of the Disney film Beauty and the Beast has arrived, with none other than Emma Watson, starring as Belle in this live action film. But what excites me most about the release of any film that gathers a lot hype, is not the film itself, but the press tour. Especially when there's a strong female role, the tour of premieres all over the world is nothing short of spectacular. Gown after gown, Emma Watson has had one of the best red carpet premiere diaries ever! Her ensembles have made an incredible journey on every stop along the way! FEBRUARY 19TH - Paris, France; First screening of Beauty and the Beast FEBRUARY 23RD - U.K. Launch of Beauty and the Beast FEBRUARY 27TH - Beauty and the Beast premiere in Shanghai, China MARCH 2ND - Los Angeles premiere of Beauty and the Beast MARCH 13TH - Beauty and the Beast event in New York City MARCH 13TH - New York City Beauty and the Beast premiere That caps off Emma Watson press tour diary! Some other remarkable press tours include Jennifer Lawrence for Mockingjay Part 1 and 2, Blake Lively for The Shallows, and Margot Robbie for Suicide Squad, Legend of Tarzan and Wolf of Wall Street! Jennifer Lawrence - Mockingjay Part 1 & 2 Lawrence has made quite a name for herself after landing the Hunger Games series, but she completely blew us away with gorgeous looks on the press tour for Mockingjay. Mostly wearing Dior, JLaw looked incredibly elegant in every ensemble she tackled. Blake Lively - The Shallows The Gossip Girl actress created much buzz when she took on the role of Nancy Adams, in a thrilling shark film, The Shallows (2016). Lively has always been known for her great style, so her documented journey of interviews and press conferences were the perfect place to showcase it. Margot Robbie - Wolf of Wall Street, Suicide Squad and Legend of Tarzan The blonde bombshell has made quite a name for herself, starring in some of the biggest blockbusters ever. She first caught our eye in the raucous yet exciting film, The Wolf of Wall Street (2013). Shortly after, she starred in in a highly anticipated lively comic book film, Suicide Squad (2016). Although it gathered many mixed reviews, that didn't stop her from landing her next role as Jane, in The Legend of Tarzan (2016). These are some of her best looks along all three of those films. Ever wonder why some seasons you see your favorite designers' collections go down the runway and some seasons you don't? While I don't know the exact reason behind it, more often than not, the designers who opt for photoshoots are usually forgotten. Though the collections that come down the runway are usually more enjoyable, this season's in-house shoots were just as beautiful. 1. Sass and Bide 2. Vera Wang 3. Marchesa Notte 4. Roberto Cavalli 5. Rodarte 6. Reem Acra 7. Alice and Olivia From February 16-21st, we watched some of the hottest designer's showcase their work for their Fall 2017 Ready-to-Wear collections. Although London is not my favourite Fashion Week, there are several designers whom I look forward to seeing every year. This year in particular, I was wowed by some of my favourite designers such as Julien Macdonald and David Koma, who never seem to disappoint me. Overall, I was pleased with most of the looks that came down the runway, so these are my favourite looks from the best shows: 1. Julien Macdonald 2. David Koma 3. House of Holland 4. Rolan Mouret 5.
